Opening Times
From April to October, the History Centre is open on Thursday mornings from 10am – noon and Sunday afternoons from 2pm to 4pm. The History Centre is not open on a regular basis from November to March, but our volunteers are generally there on Thursday mornings from 10am – noon, and we are happy to open the Centre and make its archive available to you at other times by appointment.
Directions
The History Centre is located behind the Cart Lodge in the grounds of the United Reformed Chapel, on the corner of Chapel Lane.
From Danbury: At Eves Corner turn into Little Baddow Road. Proceed for approximately 2 miles and turn left into Holybred Lane. Continue to the junction with Chapel Lane on the left. The URC Church is on the corner.
From Chelmsford: From the Army and Navy roundabout take the A130 towards Southend leaving at the first exit— A414 to Maldon. Continue on the A414 until reaching the double roundabout at the A12 junction. At the 2nd roundabout take the first exit into Hammonds Lane. Proceed to the junction with Church Lane (signposted to Little Baddow) and turn right, continuing to the junction with Chapel Lane where the URC Church is found on the corner.
